What This Country Needs

More than anything else, this country needs term limits for those representing the citizens of the nation. Google the news today and one cannot miss the obvious corruption running rampant in this country. Observe the shamefully unethical Senator Diane Feinstein whose family has profited from her seat of power. Observe Hillary Clinton, a non-native of NY, who has quickly maneuvered her way into the position of NY Senator only to use it as a lillypad from which to jump to the presidency without even a significant history of public service or political legitimacy. The sheer magnitude of the problem engendered by career politicians is absolutely mind numbing. What is most distressing is that the power to enact term limits is “entrusted” to the very people who would rather service ad infinitum and who work against the people’s will to preclude such legislation. We need more Tom Colburns, ethical individuals who are honorable enough to stand by their words and self-limit their service and who are willing to finish the promise made to America for congressional term limits.

What a circus of manipulative, self-serving bastards we call our Congressmen and Senators. No truly selfless citizen would pick up the reigns of authority afforded him by his fellow man and seek to keep his tight-knuckled grip upon them. No uncorrupted citizen actively seeks to perpetuate his endowed powers without a blackened heart. What we have is a government which does not act on behalf of the people anymore and we, the citizens of the nation, have the responsibility to compel our representatives, by election or by bloodshed. Perhaps, what our government needs is a refresher course on liberty — tar, feathers, bloodshed, rebellion, and revolution in its entirety.
