Melisse Restaurant Review (Rating: 3/5)

1104 Wilshire Blvd.
Santa Monica, CA 90401

Tonight, I came to the realization that a five course meal is two courses too many for me. Tiffany and I went to Melisse to celebrate our one year anniversary. The restaurant is rated, by the people ala Zagat, the best French restaurant in Los Angeles. We dissent. We further question why we heed the opinions of the masses. Though the ambience and wait staff were quite good, when it comes down to the food and the price ($87 for a 5 course tasting menu), there are much tastier restaurants for a better price. And, though you can order a la carte, a combination of appetizer, entre, and dessert would cost you approximately the same price as the prix fixe meal.

We recommend patronizing Maison Akira in Pasadena and La Cachette in Century City. In our opinion, Melisse ranks third among the French restaurants we’ve tried thus far.

Dartmouth Commencement

Hey guys. After five long years I am finally graduating from medical school in early-June. Despite my large educational debt, I am really happy to begin the next phase of my training and I want to share the joy of this accomplishment with you all. As most of you may know, I’m headed to Boston (again) where I’ll be starting my residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center, the major teaching hospital for the Boston University School of Medicine. I just finalized the lease on a nice studio apartment in Allston, across the Charles River from my old stomping grounds in Cambridge and ten minutes from downtown Boston. I’ve posted some pictures in my photo gallery so please check them out and let me know what you think.
